The Man In The Moon has staged over 30 original productions since 1990, featuring thousands of children from Surrey and Hampshire and enjoyed by even more.
Our past productions have included Roald Dahl's The BFG, The Witches and James and the Giant Peach, Frances Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden and the world premieres of Dodie Smith's The Starlight Barking and E. Nesbit's Five Children and It. We've also broken box office records with our sold out productions of Alan Parker's Bugsy Malone and C.S. Lewis's The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
Other productions include Dodie Smith's The Hundred and One Dalmatians, C.S. Lewis's The Magician's Nephew and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Frances Hodgeson Burnett's The Railway Children and Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows.
Our next production will be L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz at The Electric Theatre this Christmas. Sign up to our e-mailing list and we'll let you know as soon as tickets are available.
If you're a member of our weekly workshops you can audition to appear in our productions. Auditions are like workshops; if you'd like to try for a speaking role you'll need to read aloud, but you don't have to learn any lines. Our productions usually have large casts, so we split them into principal roles (who attend all rehearsals and appear in every performance) and two or three teams. We'll tell you about auditions well in advance — you can pick up an audition info sheet at workshop, and if we have your email address we'll send you details by email too. We also put up audition info sheets on our Letters & Downloads page.
We always need help backstage too! If you're interested in becoming a chaperone (matron) or helping with costumes or scenery we'd love to hear from you. You can email us or call us on 01428 608866.
